Sharing a cashflow space
You can share a cashflow space by:
● Backing up the cashflow space to a folder on a shareable drive or service in the cloud
from which others can restore the cashflow space to their copy of PerNetFlow.
● Compressing the cashflow space to a zip file which can be shared via email or other
means. The recipient unzips the backup to an empty folder from which the cashflow
space can be restored in their copy of PerNetFlow.
Deleting old information
To keep an appropriate balance between having current histories and removing data deadwood
from cashflow spaces, it is recommended that in January each year you delete information that is
more than twelve months old. Doing so will keep historical info in your cashflow spaces readily
available for the past 12 to 24 months.
Deleting old information annually is
recommended, but is not required. If, when, and
how much old information you decide to delete
is entirely up to you. I delete old information in
January. The process for each cashflow space
takes a few seconds.
Before deleting old information, you can take a
historical backup of the cashflow space. Put a
historical backup in a place other than where
you keep your normal backups. While your old information can be restored from a historical
backup, the worth of an old cashflow spreadsheet deteriorates very quickly since it is
date-sensitive. However, all history information in an historical backup is available.
After deleting old information, it is advisable to immediately take a new backup.
